Important Instructions for Students Ahead of the CBSE Board Exam

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will hold the annual board examination for both Class 10 and Class 12 in April/June 2022. Every year, around 35.70 lakh students take the combined Class 10 and 12 board exams.

Students should be aware of several key instructions before to the board examinations. To prevent paper leaks and other malpractices, the board has implemented a three-tier security check. Students should follow some crucial principles before taking their board exams.

School Uniform Mandatory

The CBSE is quite strict regarding school uniforms. Regular students who are taking board exams are required to wear school uniforms. Regular students who do not wear their school uniform to the examination will be denied admission. We recommend that students bring their school identity card as well as their admission card.

Parent Signature On Admit Card

In addition to the student's and principals’ signatures, the board has included a column for the parents' signatures on CBSE admit cards. If the column is not completed, students will be denied access to the examination.

No Entry After 10 AM

The board exams will be held from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. The examination gates will close at 10 a.m. precisely and reopen at 1.30 p.m. Students are not permitted to enter the exam center after 10 a.m. As a result, students should arrive at the center at least 30 minutes before the gate closes.

What To Carry

Students may bring basic stationery such as a pencil, pen, and eraser, as well as their admission card and school identity card. The diabetic students are permitted to transport the snacks, but only in a clean wrapper. Inside the examination hall, all written materials, electronic devices, and smartwatches are prohibited.

CBSE Introduced Two Levels Of Mathematics In Class 10

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced two levels of mathematics for Class 10 students in an innovative manner. It has issued a circular announcing the addition of two levels of mathematics for the All India Secondary School Examination beginning with the academic session ending in March 2020.

According to a CBSE news release, "the two levels of examination provide for different types of learners and allow varied levels of assessment; it would also reduce overall student stress levels."

Some of the key details of this scheme are given below.

  • ·         Class 9 will not have two levels of assessment/examination.
  • ·         Students should be aware that the first level will be the same as the current one, while the second will be easier.
  • ·         There are two books: Mathematics Standard (for the current level of examination) and Mathematics Basic (for the easier level of examination).
  • ·         Both levels would receive the same classroom instruction, curriculum, and internal assessment.
  • ·         The Mathematics-standard level is intended for students who want to study mathematics in Senior Secondary.
  • ·         Mathematics-Basic is intended for students who do not want to pursue the subject at a higher level.
  • ·         Students have the option to pick when the connected school submits the List of Candidates (LoC).
  • ·         Students who fail any level of mathematics can take supplemental tests.
